The design and redesign of this loft apartment is one of the last projects of Studio
SPACIOUS. This is 1930s building previously used as a school. Sigrid van Kleef and René van der Leest, owners and interior designers of the architect studio in Amsterdam, find it important to the history and the story of the building to give a place in the interior design. At the same time it is for them the challenge to design a modern, comfortable and stylish apartment and furnish.
Detail school in interior
The history of the school comes in different ways reflected in the interior design. The authentic roof with sturdy wooden beams, a nice linoleum floor, using stylish vintage colors, the old windows in the old wall between the classrooms and the hallway, but now as a partition is used between the living room and kitchen, and so on . In this way they show respect for the history of the building.
Lighting Plan
What really special is this loft apartment is that it’s very different than during the day in the evening. During the day is through the many windows super light, while a special lighting plan was created for the evening. Lighting always plays an important role in the design of the architects. Just as the use of steel, for example, in this loft apartment as eyecatcher reflected in the olive green design staircase.
Design Furniture
Of course, the interior decorated with stylish designer furniture and accessories. The colorful rug’s super nice on the tight blue floor. Above the wood design table with attached designers wired dining chairs, two large hanging tough industrial pendant lights. And in the living room is also the brown leather butterfly chair.
