In the impressive portfolio of Kodde architects I met a very special project. In 2013, they have a very nice renovated apartment on the Oude Waal. The renovation includes not only beautiful materials, but the architects Hans Kodde and Daniel Knijnenburg have also opted for very special solutions in interior design. One of these is the creation of a glass floor.
Glass floor for more daylight
The landing on the top floor, they have created a glass floor, which sunk in a frame of black steel. Due to the transparent nature of the glass, the two floors are connected and there is additional daylight in the center of the room to the ground floor.
The whole apartment is a sturdy rustic herringbone wood floors, consisting of recycled oak planks. It is wonderful to see that this coarse laid floor is combined with clean white walls, but also with the glass.
