In today’s blog we can again look inside the home of a creative brain. It is the home of Ylva Sharp, a Swedish designer and calligrapher, known for its beautiful black and white prints. And its perfectly equipped interior is nothing less than what you would expect from such a creative person.
Residential work together
Ylva lives in Leksand in the landscape Dalarna province Dalarna län in Sweden. A beautiful house filled with lovely original features such as high ceilings and original window and door frames. Actually it is a combination of live and work, because she has her studio there decorated.
In the interior design you see clear signs of her characteristic graphic style. Here is also where she takes strength and inspiration.
Mix of materials
What I find particularly beautiful and special is the use of all the different materials in the interior. Throughout the house there is a nice wooden floor, combined with a wooden ceiling. Some walls are painted white, others black, and even in the dining room is a wall covered with a kind of coarse stucco, where the beautiful sweep are still visible. The kitchen has a tiled wall with simple white square tiles, while you see a wall in the living room again fully lined with rustic wooden planks. So many different materials together after all form a nice coherent whole.
That goes for the furniture and accessories. A large block of wood on wheels is used as a coffee table in the living room combined with a large comfortable sofa fabric, while there are also two vintage banks face with black leather seat.
In the kitchen is a nice contrast between the visible white painted wood floor, white wall tiles and black painted walls.
